Lauren Cayer

Owner and President of Watercycles Investments Ltd., Lauren devoted 19 years as an administrator with the Canadian Navy. Her duties set her up well for success in the business world, serving to accentuate her organizational, communication, and bookkeeping abilities.

A gifted athlete and dedicated team player, Lauren participated on the Canadian Military National Volleyball team during trips around the world as Canada is a member state of the International Military Sports Council, which is also known as the Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM). With 139 member nations, CISM is the second largest multi-sport discipline organization after the International Olympic Committee.

Lauren was also honoured to be named inaugural Reserve Sailor of the Year for Canada in 2010. Lauren acted as Office Manager for Watercycles Energy Recovery Inc. with responsibilities in accounting, bookkeeping, finance and human resources at the firm’s inception.

In 2014 she became Vice-President of Finance, a post she held till 2023. Well-organized and disciplined, Lauren was instrumental in the successes of Watercycles Energy Recovery Inc by assisting in the development of Watercycles Inc’s management team.

Watercycles Energy Recovery was a drain water heat recovery unit that allows home or business owners to recoup the energy they bought to heat their water, saving on the amount of energy needed to heat subsequent incoming water. It’s a green technology for new and renovation construction and commercial applications, especially those with substantial water use.

The Watercycles family of businesses is based on the 7Cs Farms near Edenwold, Sask., in the heart of a forest south of the Qu’Appelle Valley. Here they raise Berkshire pigs, lowline cattle and their six superactive children. Lauren and Andre believe in loyalty, trust, discipline, and stewardship in all business relationships, and are proponents of life-long learning.

A 30-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, André rose through the ranks to Senior NCO and subsequently Commissioned from the ranks to officer. Andre’s methodical, military mindset transferred well to the business world when he founded an award-winning manufacturing company, Watercycles Energy Recovery Inc.

Watercycles was a Drain Water Heat Recovery (DWHR) unit that allows home or business owners to recoup the energy they bought to heat their water, saving on the amount of energy needed to heat subsequent incoming water. Andre was a member of the CSA committee that created the standard for DWHR used across Canada and now in some US states.

An adopt-and-adapt enthusiast, André believes repetition helps create perfection. He brings to Watercycles Investments the same entrepreneurial thinking and organizational ability that made Watercycles Energy Recovery a successful and award-winning corporation. Such accolades include SABEX finalists in 2006, winner of ABEX Best New Business in 2007, a feature article in Australia’s World Plumbing Review in 2008, spotlight business feature in Enterprise NOW! magazine in 2009, and ABEX and Paragon award citations from 2018 to today in Export Achievement.
